My client a highly recognised organisation in Ireland is looking to recruit a Fostering Social Worker to recruit, assess and train prospective foster carers.
Main Duties and responsibilities include:
* Service development i.e recruiting assessing and training prospective foster carers, plan for successful placements, ensuring foster carers are fully prepared for placements, provide high level of support to foster carers in keeping with the MTFC model, organise weekly foster carer meetings, conduct weekly interviews with foster families on the children’s behaviours.
• Administrative Responsiblities i.e advertising for recruitment,maintaining records, prepare reports, provide data on the programme as required by the programme supervisor.
• Policy and Practice: Ensure that all National Standards in relation to Fostering are adhered to, ensure all legislation in relation to children and families are adhered to and be familiar with work in accordance with relevant legislation, guidelines and procedures.
Successful applicants must have the following:
• N.Q.S.W, C.Q.S.W. or other professional social work qualification recognised as equivalent by the National Social Work Qualification Board.
• Minimum of 3 years post qualifying experience in the area of adoption, fostering or other related areas of social work.
• Capacity to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Must have driving licence.
