Industrial Operations Site Manager
 

Our Client is seeking a highly motivated and safety conscious individual to manage teams of technicians providing a utilities management service for one or more industrial site, managing contracts in all technical and operational aspects. The successful candidate would have developed a detailed knowledge of the operation and maintenance of a broad cross section of utilities plant including Boilers, Compressors, Chillers etc. and demonstrated successful development and implementation .The successful candidate would be the main point of contact with the clients nominated representative and have full P&L responsibility for the operation of his contracts.


Main tasks

Develop, implement and monitor performance against budget and to take the necessary actions to ensure financial objectives are met
• Responsible for PO generations and control of the ordering system to ensure budget requirements are achieved.
• P&L reporting
• Act quickly/efficiently on issues arising from energy audits (e.g. audit close-outs)
• Key conduit between Client and operational staff on site.
• Champion energy (including technical expertise and training) within organisation and to our clients.
• Demonstrate significant improvements to the Energy system arising from analysis of feedback and changing business needs.
• Demonstrate clear and concise documentation of Energy systems within ISO9001:2000
• Detailed Building services (M&E) experience.
• To ensure that the site utilities being managed by our client are available to support the clients production requirements.
• Manage the machinery operational performance to demonstrate the cost effectiveness of the overall utilities operation.
• Deliver all site services within budget. Prepare budget forecasts and track to plan for financial costing.
• Monitor performance of all plant associated with contracts under his control and establish reporting methodology to support this.
• To ensure all plant under the control of our client is maintained in accordance with manufacturer’s specification/Best Practice.
• To develop and ensure that the planned preventative maintenance schedules are completed in accordance with the agreed schedule and assess on an ongoing basis, the effectiveness of the PM schedules .
• To ensure records of work carried out is recorded on the clients ERP System.
• Monitor and evaluate performance of Facilities support contractors on an ongoing basis as part of the contractor selection process.
• To attend daily/weekly production meetings to agree appropriate maintenance is carried out with minimum disruption to production.
• To ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with Health, Safety & Environmental regulations, permit to work and client procedures are strictly adhered to.
• To ensure that all company procedures are adhered to and that quality standards are maintained at all times.
• To recommend to the client remedies that need to be carried out at the utilities plant to ensure its availability to support production required.
• To ensure that our Client’s staff are trained to carry out their roles and to put in place appropriate development plans using the annual appraisal process.
Set Performance goals and objectives for both the site supervisor and the team.
• Report to the client on contract progress and ensure client satisfaction utilising the agreed KPI’s.
• Establish and develop opportunities to diversify or increase contractual services to the client.


Required qualifications
Trade Qualification in Electrical/Mechanical discipline with post qualification 3rd level qualification
3rd Level Qualification in related engineering discipline with minimum of 5 years post qualification experience in a technical management role

Key competences required
Experience (knowledge)
• 10 Years post qualification engineering experience - across different industrial sectors.
• Operating within a regulated environment
Experience of multiple site responsibility - ideally within a service industry environment
• Experience in energy management role with ability to demonstrate a clear history of savings achieved.
• 5 Years People management experience - ability to demonstrate excellent organisational/leadership skills
• Demonstrate an ability to motivate and drive a team in a continuous improvement environment
• Project management experience across a range of disciplines
Excellent PC Skills & ability to develop and deliver presentations at both client and internal levels

Skills (must be able to …)
• Demonstrate proficiency in the maintenance and operation of Utilities plant (Boilers, Chillers, Air Compressors) across a broad range of manufacturers.
• To manage and develop team(s) of employees to ensure sustainability of service to clients (Multi skilled technicians and contractors).
• To develop and drive Energy Cost reduction prog
