Production Controller
 

Our client currently seeks a Production Controller to join there team.

Position Summary:
Manage all work associated with the various production processes on a day-to-day basis. Fully trained across a range of jobs / skills and is flexible, interchangeable and mobile within the Production Department.

Principle Responsibilities:
• Manage and develop all assigned area’s as it applies to the manufacturing of products and associated activities with particular emphasis on ensuring a smooth, efficient, cost effective and customer responsive workflow.
• Establish and deliver clear performance indices for performance enhancement, profit improvement and substantially increased efficiency across manufacturing area at the highest industry quality standards.
• Develop and constantly drive initiatives designed to improve the productivity of people and resources within your assigned area.
• Identify and evaluate areas where cost reductions can be effected by the application of up to date management techniques, while maintaining or increasing the quality of product and customer service
• Plan and organise the daily Production Department work load by area with reference to the Production Schedule requirements.
• Ensure all new Production employees receive training in the relevant aspects of their positions and ensure that each person is suitability trained for their positions.
• Monitor and be responsible for the production process and equipment as designated by the Production Manager.
• Set up relevant production processes and equipment to achieve agreed output level and document compliance to agreed quality levels.
• Ensure the reporting of all production activities is carried out accurately and in a timely fashion in keeping with the requirements of the management information system and S.O.P in place.
• Initiate and take part in all relevant group problem-solving activities as may be designated and develop, encourage and maintain team based operational environment
• Ensure that the Production teams operate within plant G.M.P. regulations and guidelines at all times.
• Proactively, through the use of team meetings and other communication skills, develop sustainable goals and targets for each team within the area.
• Co-ordinate recruitment and capacity planning activities for the area.
• Manage all personnel issues within the area, for example, annual leave, absenteeism, disciplinary and grievance issues etc.
• Carry out assigned projects in the Production and other Departments from time to time in an efficient, cost and timely manner.
Promote good employee relations throughout the department through the use of modern management principles.
• Develop, install and maintain training and development plans as appropriate for all personnel in the department and carry out training as required.
• Responsible for the Health and Safety of your assigned Area.

Education / Experience
• Educated to degree level or equivalent within a relevant discipline. (i.e. Science, Engineering, Business).
• A recognised supervisory management qualification.
• Experience in a supervisory role preferably within a fast paced manufacturing environment.
• Computer literate especially on Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

• Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Excellent project management skills and delegation ability.
• Must have a flexible approach to work and be capable of handling multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to effectively train and develop others.
• A team builder with good strategic perspective who possess strong influencing skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work with colleagues and customers from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
