LOCATION: Calgary, Alberta
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Design, install and test electrical control systems for production equipment and water treatment plants. Supervise apprentice labour. Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fibre-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components. Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance. Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems. Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices. Install, maintain and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices.
REQUIREMENTS:
Completion of a 3-4 year apprenticeship program. Minimum 7 years working experience as an electrician. Driver's license required.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Candidates MUST be able to pass the Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training (AAIT) Certificate Equivalency before arrival and AAIT exam within 6 months of arriving Advanced to fluent English is a requirement 40/hours per week with possibility of overtime.
Contract is 2 years with intent to permanent.
SALARY RANGE:
$30-32/hr based on qualifications and experience.
