You will be directly responsible for patients in the 15 bed acute medical inpatient ward, working in rotation with another Medical Officer. You will be supported by a visiting physician as well as an on-site 5 Doctor GP practice. The roster includes after hours hospital cover and after hours emergency GP cover.
Our client is a Rural Teaching Centre for the University of Otago’s Rural Medical Immersion Programme and hosts 5th year medical students who spend their entire academic year in Balclutha. You will be part of the team assisting in the teaching of those students.
the modern facility offers services to a rural community of 17,000 people and includes outpatient clinics, a maternity unit, a palliative care unit, Xray, Lab and a mobile surgical bus service.
