Our client, one of the leading drinking water testing facility in Ireland, is currently looking to recruit a Laboratory Supervisor to join our expanding team who will report to the general manager and will be responsible for the supervision of ten laboratory technicians. Promotion to a more senior role is a definite possibility for the future. The ideal candidate will be career orientated, goal driven and a self starter with a continuous improvement focus who can hit the ground running
Key Responsibilities
Planning and review of work schedules and result due dates in conjunction with customer service team
Supervision and co-ordination of laboratory technicians in completion of test schedules
Achievement of on-time delivery and quality targets
Develop and improve laboratory capability
Implement improvement plans with the lab in line with company objectives
Equipment preventive maintenance and troubleshooting
Achievement of cross training targets
Perform annual performance appraisals
Skills and Requirements
Degree level qualification in Chemistry
Familiarity with environmental testing, especially water analysis is essential
Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in a laboratory environment
Supervisor Training Diploma or equivalent
Experience working in a contract lab would be advantageous
A proven track record in process improvement is essential
Excellent knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Working knowledge of Lotus Notes and LIMS systems would be an advantage
Practical knowledge of GCMS operation and troubleshooting would be an advantage
Must previously have worked in an INAB accredited or highly regulated environment

Fluency in English is essential
