Architectural Technician
 

This is a fantastic opportunity for an Architectural Technician with practical experience to join a small but well-established Structural & Civil Engineering consultancy in a role, which will see you assisting the close-knit team with your input into projects, and bring the design element to existing and new clients.

Key Responsibilities

-To collect and analyse technical data for the members of the design team
-To conduct land and building survey work and organize work schedules
-Being responsible for producing information, schedules and building specifications
-Assisting in the preparation of design proposals for clients, working as part of a team
-Preparation of high quality drawings and construction details for use on-site
-Producing detailed drawings from which costings are made
-Using design and project management tools such as AutoCAD and Slingshot to produce 2D and 3D designs and plans
-Liaising with engineers to make sure that buildings meet the necessary requirements
-Being involved in the whole construction process from the drawing of plans to the examination of completed building work, working together with other professionals
-Helping to solve problems that might occur throughout the design and planning process

Required Skills

-Minimum of 3 years practical work experience as Architectural Technician in a UK or Irish based consultancy is essential
-Previous experience in preparation of working drawings on large projects in new build and refurbishment/renovation while working against strict time schedules
-CAD proficiency essential, strong design skills and competency in using design programs such as MasterSeries, ADT 3.3, AutoCAD Lt 2002, MS PowerPoint/Excel/Word/Project
-Proven ability to produce high quality and economical designs with good understanding of current building regulations, codes and standards
-Ability to visualize and bring innovative and creative ideas to client projects
-Working knowledge of current design Codes and Standards, and planning process
-Mathematical mind with excellent technological understanding
-Accurate and methodical work, innovative and resourceful
-Ability to work independently on one's own initiative and to take responsibility
-Strong communication skills with both colleagues and clients,
-Able to resolve any problems effectively
-Open and friendly character, with the ability to work as part of a team
-Fluency in English is essential
