Project Manager
Overview
Immediate requirement for experienced Project Manager with Life & Pensions experience to join leading Financial Services organisation in Dublin 2.
Requirements
· 5 years project management experience utilising and applying a proven project management methodology in the delivery of complex projects.
· 2 years experience in Life & Pensions industry
· Candidate will ideally have a recognised project management accreditation.
General requirements
Planning and delivery of complex projects in a demanding environment. A proven track record in the on-time, on-budget delivery of large projects within the software development, systems integration and/or IT services industries. The ability to take all new project requirements from initial business requirements through the full project, development & implementation lifecycle.
This is a major opportunity for an ambitious IT professional to contribute to the management and evolution of critical business systems. The role also involves the analysis and understanding of complex business processes with subsequent identification of improvement areas, development of detailed sets of business requirements and functional specifications leading to successful implementation.
Key interactions are with other Program/Project Managers, Product Managers, 3rd party Business representatives; Business Analysts, Development Managers, Service Centre Managers and associated IT and business teams. The PM leads planning, definition and development of business specifications, functional requirements and user acceptance testing in conjunction with project team.
Candidate will be required to spend 3 days each week in Belfast office for an inital 12 month period.
Skills and Challenges
· Strong skills in the planning, organisation, scheduling, problem solving and the resolution of conflicting priorities. This is not a passive role and will require active participation in the delivery process.
· Excellent leadership, negotiating and influencing skills.
· Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact up to senior management level and be able to explain complicated processes and concepts to non experts.
· Strong customer relationship management focus and can demonstrate where you have worked with and built relationships with clients at a senior level.
· Experience in applying formal project management methodologies. PMI certification or similar project management qualification. Have experience of the full software development lifecycle and a proven track record in the delivery of complex software solutions.
· Experienced in structured analysis and design methods.
· Strong understanding of current technologies and integrated I.T. systems
· Experienced in systems implementation, user interaction and deployment.
· Good process analysis and mapping skills.
· Excellent team building/working skills
· High energy self-starter
· Ability to set priorities and work to tight deadlines
