Financial Accountant-Group Financial Control
Our Client is one of Ireland's largest financial institutions with a presence across a range of financial services markets. The Group Financial Control team are responsible for the external reporting requirements of the group including production of the interim and full year results, annual report, stock exchange and other regulatory reporting. The team are also responsible for the production of the statutory accounts and annual Financial Regulator, the production of quarterly management accounts for the group and the development of the financial control environment for group functions.
This exciting opportunity will offer the successful candidate a key role in the production of the consolidated interim and annual financial results, the preparation of the annual report, statutory accounts for other group companies and regulatory reporting for the principal life assurance operating company.
Key Responsibilities
• Preparation and review of financial accounting information for the group consolidated financial reporting statements, including disclosure schedules required for supporting notes.
• Preparing financial schedules and reconciliations for transactions process at group level.
• Preparation of statutory information .
• Liaise with other finance areas including actuarial and external auditors to facilitate production of the Financial statements.
• Provide support on the financial administration of the Staff Pension Schemes.
• Participate in a variety of projects to improve and develop the financial reporting process.
• Provide support and cover to both financial and management team members as required.
The successful candidate should possess the following skills and knowledge:
• Recently qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification)
• Experience in financial services would be advantageous.
• Must be highly motivated with an ability to manage deadlines and ensure quality in every aspect of reporting.
• Good technical financial accounting skills.
• Good analytical and problem solving ability.
• Have strong communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
• Working knowledge of financial systems (e.g. Oracle Financials).
• Strong end user computing skills in particular MS Excel, Word, Access etc).
