Company description:
IBM has led the information technology (IT) industry since it began, and we've seen it change countless times. In fact, we've often led those changes. Today, we have a single, focused business model: innovation. IBM takes its breadth and depth of insight on issues, processes and operations across a variety of industries, and invents and applies technology to address its clients' most important business and competitive challenges.
While leading the development of state-of-the-art technologies and the products and service offerings built around them, we measure ourselves by how well we help clients succeed. That's because it is at the core of what we value, but it's also because the IT industry is on the cusp of another profound shift. The ubiquity of networked computing is changing the way organizations do business bringing dramatic improvements in productivity, transforming industries, and creating opportunities in entirely new market segments. That is On Demand Business.
50 Years in Ireland
IBM is the longest established IT Multinational in Ireland and in the 50 years since we started, we have grown from just three employees to one of the largest employers in the country with in excess of 3,000 full-time employees. In that time we have built a diverse portfolio of businesses including software manufacturing, software development, sales and marketing, an international Financial Services Solutions Centre and a Corporate Treasury Centre.
In the 50 years that we have been in Ireland our business has evolved and transformed many times and is likely to do so many more times in the future. - Michael Daly, Country General Manager, IBM Ireland
